Adding value through audit
Audit can provide DHBs and health services with important and valuable insight. It can help provide organisations with credibility, and funders and users of a service with confidence.
Audit and Assurance operates as an independent division of HealthShare, responsible for undertaking third party independent DHB agreement audits and related activities. Audit and Assurance provides agreement delivery assurance and risk advice to Te Manawa Taki DHBs, based on audits of contracted non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
HealthShare is a Designated Auditing Agency (DAA), approved by the Director General of Health to audit health services under the Health and Disability Services (Safety) Act 2001.
Audit and Assurance is committed to providing:
- a high-quality assurance service that meets industry best practice guidelines;
- experienced and qualified auditors with a range of clinical competence, expertise and specialist knowledge in health and disability services; and
- impartiality, managing conflict of interest and ensuring objectivity in undertaking audit activities.
